Update Drupal using Drush

Drush is a command line shell and scripting interface for Druapl. Updating Drupal to latest version is easy with Drush.

sudo su 
apt-get install drush

Check new Drupal updates available. Enter inside the Drupal installation place/folder and apply following commands.
cd /usr/share/drupal7
drush up -n | grep available
drush up

How to solve error code E000732-0001 on Canon copiers

Error E42 or 5010 on Canon printers

Eror code E42 or 5010 requires servicing... But, firt, try these two solutions.

It could be a scanner dysfunction due to shock.


Solution 1:

• Open the right side of the printer (three screws) and release the plastic part.
• Reconnect the cable unplug.
• Reset the plastic part

• Open the right side of the printer (three screws) and release the plastic part.
• There is a set of cables on the left: check that there is no one that is cut
• If this is the case: strip the cable, connect both ends and surround with electrical tape.

Error E315 with Canon IR2200, IR2800, IR3300

Error code E315 means any of the following is true in the image processing by the main controller:

1. The image data has a fault.
2. The encoding/decoding operation for image data has a fault.
3. The image processing element of the main controller PCB has a fault.

The image data, the main controller or the HDD is faulty.

What to do:
If this error occurs during normal copying or printing, the job in question (image data) is cleared when the main power switch is turned off and then on again.

If this error occurs frequently, however, a fault on the main controller PCB is a possibility.

If this error occurs in a specific image within the Mail Box, damage in data may be assumed: be sure to delete the image from the Mail Box.

How to reset drum on OKI C5650

Here is two procedures to reset the drum counter on OKI C5650:


Solution 1:

• Turn the machine on while pushing and holding "Up" and "Down button at same time.
• Menu window will show "Oki User"
• Scroll to " Engine DialogMode" and push Enter button.
• "Diagnostic Mode xx.xx.xx S-Mode" is indicated.
• Scroll to "NV-Ram initial"  and push ENTER.
• Screen shows "NV-Ram- Initial Table 1".
• Push "Online" and "Enter" Buttons simultaneously and Hold for 10 seconds after you see "Executing Reset" in menu window.
• Restart printer.

Error 50.x on HP Laserjet P2030, P2035

Error 50.X is a fuser error:  the printer has experienced an error with the fuser.


Solution 1:

• Turn off the power by using the power switch.
• Wait at least 60 seconds.
• Turn on the power and wait for the product to initialize.

 

Solution 2:

• If the error continues, turn off the product.
• Wait at least 25 minutes, and then turn on the product.
• (If you are using a surge protector, remove it. Plug the product directly into the wall socket. Use the power switch to turn on the product.)

• Replace the fuser:

How to reset waste ink counter on a Canon Pixma Pro9500

Here is the procedure to reset waste ink absorber counter:

• Turn the printer power off.
• While pressing the "Resume/Cancel" button, press and hold the "Power" button. (The Power LED lights in green to indicate that a function is selectable.)
• While holding the "Power" button, release the "Resume/Cancel" button. 
• While holding the "Power" button, press the "Resume/Cancel" button 2 times, and then release both the "Power" and "Resume/Cancel" buttons. (Each time the Resume/Cancel button is pressed, the Alarm and Power LEDs light alternately, Alarm in orange and Power in green, starting with Alarm LED.)
• When the Power LED lights in green, press the "Resume/Cancel" button 4 times to reset ink absorber counter. (Each time the Resume/Cancel button is pressed, the Alarm and Power LEDs light alternately, Alarm in orange and Power in green, starting with Alarm LED.)

About Canon Pixma Pro9500 and Pro9000:

It's the little things that save your sanity

My homegrown makerspace has been a labor of love and has provided its own set of learning experiences.  I've found lots of advice about shopping around for furniture, bins, tools and supplies, but here are two items I also recommend, discovered out of sheer necessity.

#1 - A small, "cute" tabletop garbage can.

With 3D printing, you will have little bits of extruded plastic EVERYWHERE.  My middle school students were notorious for leaving scraps laying around, or brushing them onto the floor. Enter one "cute" garbage can.  Now they can't wait to put their scraps in there, and they even like looking inside of it to see their collection of scraps and failed prints grow.  (I can't explain them, I just teach them.) :)  It's also easily portable, and we move it around the room as different tools and 3D printers fall in and out of favor with the group.  I bought this one at Target.

#2 - A 3D print display stand (ie: a non-slip spice rack)

The students in my science classes love to handle the 3D printed objects that are left behind in my room.  Often, science students will take a model to their desk and just enjoy having it sit there for the duration of the 50 minute class period.  However, the constant movement was a challenge.  I tried a spot on the table, ziploc bags, buckets and trays, but the models were all over the place.  Until I ordered the spice rack.  Still room for improvement, but it's better.  I plan to order a second one.  Of course you can build your own, but I (embarrassingly) was looking for a cheap, immediate, injection-molded solution.

PS: We also discovered that an O Organics animal cracker bin (Safeway brand) fits the Cube build plate perfectly to soak off the "Cubestick" glue!
